Funeral booklet

Funeral booklet templates with eight pages, for when a four-page program isn't enough room. Add the order of service, their story, a page of photos and memories from family, then print and staple at home.

What goes on each page

Page 1 is the cover: their photo, name, dates, and the time and place of the service. Page 2 holds the order of service and the pallbearers, and page 3 the life story, which can run to about 300 words with a favorite saying underneath. Page 4 is a full page of up to six photos. Page 5 has short memories from family and friends, three or four of them, each signed. Page 6 sets a poem, prayer or scripture on its own, which is easy to read along with. Page 7 carries the family’s thanks, the burial or reception, and donations. The back cover closes with a line and, if you like, one more photo.

Every page can be renamed in the editor, and the cover matches the funeral program template with the same name.

When a booklet is worth it

A four-page program covers most services. A booklet makes sense when the service has many parts, such as a funeral Mass with three readings or a homegoing with tributes and resolutions. It also helps when the family wants guests to take home photos and stories. For the order of a Mass, see Catholic funeral program templates. For tribute wording, read eulogy examples, and for a reading, funeral poems.

Printing and stapling

The home PDF prints on two US Letter sheets. Print both sides, flipping on the short edge, then nest sheet 2 inside sheet 1, fold and staple. For 100 booklets, plan on about an hour of folding with two people. A print shop can print and saddle-stitch them from the print-shop PDF, usually within a day.

Questions families ask

What is the difference between a funeral booklet and a funeral program?

A program is one sheet folded in half, so four pages. A booklet is two or more sheets folded together and stapled at the fold, so it has room for a full page of photos, tributes and a reading as well as the order of service.

How do I print a funeral booklet at home?

Print both sheets of the home PDF on both sides, flipping on the short edge. Put sheet 2 inside sheet 1, fold them together and staple twice along the fold. A long-reach stapler makes this easy; office stores sell them.

What paper should I use?

Regular 24 to 32 lb paper or light 60 to 65 lb card stock. Heavy card stock cracks when two sheets are folded together.

Can I make a 12-page booklet?

Not yet. Every design here is 8 pages. If you need more room, put the extra photos in a slideshow or on a memory table.
