Funeral thank you cards

Funeral thank you cards with their photo on the front and a printed note from the family on the back. Edit one online, print two to a sheet at home, and sign each one by hand.

Printed cards or ordered cards

Card shops will print funeral thank you cards for you, but they take a few days and often come in packs of 25 or 50. Making them here means you can print 12 tonight and 30 more next week, with the same design as the program. Each card is 5 × 7 inches, two to a Letter sheet, on 80 to 110 lb matte card stock that takes a pen. They fit standard A7 envelopes, sold at office stores.

What to write

The back of each card has a printed note from the family, around 40 to 60 words, and a signature line. Keep the printed part general (“Thank you for your kindness and for being with us”) and add a line by hand where you can: “The lasagna fed us for three days.” For wording by situation, from flowers to donations to pallbearers, see funeral thank you card messages.

Matching sets

The Garden, Eucalyptus, Noir and Sunflower thank you cards match the funeral program templates of the same names, so the photo, colors and lettering line up with what guests saw at the service.

Questions families ask

Who should get a funeral thank you card?

People who sent flowers or a donation, brought food, served as pallbearers or readers, or helped in a bigger way, such as the clergy or the hospice nurse. You don't need to send one to everyone who signed the guest book.

How soon should I send them?

Within two or three weeks is common, but there is no deadline. People understand if it takes a month or two.

Do I need to write a personal note in each card?

A printed message plus your signature is fine. If you have time, one handwritten line about what that person did makes the card feel personal.
